Week 12: Placeholders and Proofreading (Makiyah Harris)


Character Sprites

This week, I continued working on character sprites. I decided to start creating placeholders for all of the characters. I wanted to ensure that we could implement some visuals into the latest prototype, even if the sprites are temporary. As of today, the placeholders for Miren, the bandit, and the hooded figure are complete. These three characters constitute around half of the necessary sprites. 

Additionally, I created one finished sprite for Miren to establish standards for the line art and level of rendering for all of the final sprites.


Implementation and Bug Testing

I implemented some of the backgrounds and Miren’s placeholder sprites in Scene A. I also did some testing for our current prototype, fixing bugs and typos as I played. 


Tasks and Timekeeping

  • Total: 12 hours
    • Created more placeholder sprites: 9.5 hours
    • Internal playtesting/troubleshooting: 1.5 hours
    • Implemented sprites for Scene A: 1 hour
