Week 8: Mockups continued, colored, and detailing


For this week I started by creating multiple concepts for coloring for the player character, with the overall design staying the same based on feedback.

Along with this I created more mockups for the environment with the merchants table with the box the player is held in, and the outside of Miren’s cave with the surrounding area. During this more detail was added to the merchants table and the cave entrance rock formations on the small cliffside. After this I started to add the base color to the mockups that’s going to be featured for Act 1 using dark colors throughout the environments.

Focusing on the Goldstone fortress I made the colors throughout more muted based on received feedback, created more details with the bricks on the fortress, and added variation in color in the mote and the bark or the trees for detail.

Tasks and Timekeeping

  • Jadin (Total~ 5.1 hours)
    • Created multiple coloring concepts for player character: 0.5 hours.
    • Created more mockups and added base colors to backgrounds: 2 hours.
    • Beginning to add more detail to the background mockups: 2.6 hours.
