Week 7: Prototyping in Ren'Py (Andrew Thomas)


Over the week, I took the time to implement our Twine prototype into Ren'Py, which will also be the engine where we make the full game. It was my first time using Ren'Py too, so I was learning the intricacies of it while putting in most of what we had from our prototype. Got a lot of the dialogue put in and implemented our relationship mechanic where depending on the choice you make, your relationship with the character will go up or down. There are other mechanics I want to test in Twine first, like our override mechanic, where if you fail a persuasion check on the main character you can control them and do want you asked them to do. And I still need to implement the persuasion checks into the Ren'py prototype.
